BLACK TEA (Camellia Sinensis)
The motherland of black tea is considered to be China. According to the Chinese epos the tea plant grew from the eyelids of a clergyman. He accidentally fell asleep during his prayer and as a punishment he decided to cut his own eyelids. Up to the present in Chinese and Japanese the notions of “tea” and “eyelid” coincide. It is difficult to say whether this epos coincides with the reality, but the fact that tea intrusion into the human life was determined from above, goes without saying. One of the reasons that tea is the most spread drink on the earth, as for about two billion people consider it to be a food of first demand. The Chinese people presented the word not only with the name of the tea, but they also thought how to use it. During its production black tea undergoes a complete kneading which determines its black colour and the odour of resin or balsam. Each black tea type is unique both for its quality and for its appearance and smell.
