DOG-ROSE (Rosa Cinnamomeal)
The generic name comes from the Greek word “rhodon”, which means pink. Rose hip was still known among the people of ancient world. The ancient Greeks surrounded the temples of the Goddess of love and beauty Aphrodite with bushes of Rose hip and, scattered the petals of Rose hip on the ways of just married couples. What is more, the Romans considered Rose hip to be the symbol of morality. For many other nations as well Rose hip was a ceremonial plant. They decorated the foreheads of poets with Rose hip, even that of autocrats, and adorned the necks of young girls with necklaces of ripe fruits. The curing character of the roots, flowers, leaves and red yields of rose hip were widely known still many years ago. Avicenna advised to use rose hip in the cases of headache, toothache, soar throat. Popular doctors, by the help of rose hip, cured illnesses, beginning from flue, sickness, up to deep madness.
Rose hip became even more important after discovering that its yields are real treasury. They contain a chain of vitamins, ascorbic salts, various micro- and macro-elements such as carotene, chloride, iron, copper, zinc, chromium, manganese, calcium, potassium and iodine. As a multivitamin curing method, at present both popular and scientific medicine uses rose hip for preventing infectious diseases, for strength restoration and is considered to be an irreplaceable diuretic, cures low acidity and other digestive illnesses. Infusion, fruit juice, pulp, fruit-soup are made from Rose hip. Rose hip tea strengthens the resistibility of the organism, spurs the work of sexual organs.
